Unit 5 This is my sister

Teaching Aims:

1. Language aims:  1) Learn and grasp the names of family members.

                2) Learn to introduce and identify people.

                3) Learn and grasp the usage of demonstratives this, these, that, those

                4) Vocabulary: father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, brother, sister, parent (s), grandparent (s), friend

      5) Target language: This is my sister.

                         That is my brother.

                                These are my parents.

                                Those are my grandparents.

                                Who is she? She is my mother.

Teaching Important Points:

1.      the names of family members

2.      The usage of demonstratives pronouns.

Step 1: Warming up and Lead-in

Greetings.

T: How are you?What’s your name?Nice to meet you!

S: …

Then show Ss a picture of my family

T: Who is in the picture? Yeah, it’s me. You know me, do you know them?

T: They are my family members. Today I want to introduce my family members to you. Would you like to meet them?

T: Is he old? He is my grandfather. This is my grandfather.

(write word “grandparents” on the blackboard. Then teach theses words mother, father, brother, sister and friend in the same way.)

教学意图:

用教师家人的照片导入新课,让学生现在照片中找出老师,引起学生的兴趣,激发学生的好奇心。接着介绍家人,过程中教授句型 This is …These are……和单词。教师边介绍,边领读单词。有必要的话把个别音标写出来,或者用红笔圈出来,加以强调。

Step 2: Presentation

Show a picture of Dave’s family. Match the words with the people in the picture.

Then talk about Dave’s family

T: Let’s talk about Dave’s family in pairs. You must use “This is …” and “These are …” to do it.

教学意图:

通过David 一家的图片创设介绍人物和辨别人物的语境,学生独立完成1a的任务,并朗读David和他朋友的对话,进行对话练习。

Show David’s family tree then.Talk about the Ss’ family tree.

T: Look at the family tree.

T: Let’s talk about the family tree; you can do it in groups of four or three. You can do it in pairs or you can do it yourself. Then report it to the class.

T: Check your task.S3: Hello. My name is …Look at this. This is my family tree. This is my…and this is my…They are old. These are my … This is my… This is my … My mother is … This is my … His name is … I love my family.

教学意图:让学生展示自己的家谱,大部分同学都会对同学的家长充满好奇,这个环节能够调动课堂氛围,学生在展示家谱的过程中练习本节课的单词和句型。

Step 4: Listening:

Listen and circle the words you hear.

Listen again. Match the names with the people in the picture.

Listen again,answer the questions:

What’s Cindy’s mother’s name?

What’s her father’s name?

Is Mary her sister?

Who’s Jenny?

教学意图:听力练习强化学生的单词记忆,让学生听地道的英语,有利于加强他们的发音。听力前教师引导学僧看图猜图中人物,对重点单词进行复习。课本听力完成后继续利用听力材料做拓展练习。

Step 3: Groupwork

Show the picture of Mr.Obama’s family

Who’s he\she? He\She is…

Who’re they? They are…

Is he\she…?

教学意图:展示奥巴马一家的照片,用这张照片练习本节课的句型,并且渗透一般疑问句,组长分配好组员的角色,提示中的句子都要用到,编一个完整的小对话。

Step 7: Summary and Homework

T: Do you know what’s family?

T: “family” means “ father –and –mother-I –love –you!”  And I hope you can show your love to your parents, OK?

Homework:  A Write a passage about your family.

            B Read 2d and underline the difficult sentences.

教学意图:通过 family这个单词对学生进行情感教育,爱存在于家庭的每一个角落。最后的作业分层,让每一个学生都有事可做。
